Sport Minister Leonardo Picciani joins a press conference about the Paralympic Games on Tuesday at the Rio Media Center

Brazil's Minister of Sport Leonardo Picciani will offer a press conference about the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games on Tuesday (6 September) at 3 p.m. at the Rio Media Center. The conference will also be attended by the President of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), Andrew Parsons.

The Paralympic Games will award 528 medals in 23 sports during 11 days of sporting events. In all, over 4,000 paralympic athletes from 160 countries will be competing in Rio de Janeiro.

Bringing its largest delegation in history, Team Brazil has as its challenge to rank among the top five Paralympic powers in this edition of the Games. It will be the first time the country will compete in all 23 sports that make up the Paralympic programme.
