Sponsorship from state owned companies
Another critical financial resource for Brazilian sport comes from sponsorship deals with several state owned companies. Such deals tend to be closed with the confederations for Olympic, as well as Paralympic sports.
With the Brazil Medals Plan, state owned companies have increased sponsorship aimed resources for sports included in the programme (boxing, taekwondo, judo, basketball, handball, swimming, open water swimming, tennis, athletics, artistic gymnastics, wrestling, cycling, BMX, shooting, canoeing, equestrian, volleyball, beach volleyball, modern pentathlon and sailing, in addition to Paralympic sports).
Currently, the following state owned companies sponsor Brazilian sport: Petrobras, INFRAERO, Eletrobras, Postal Services, Federal Savings Bank (CEF), Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), Banco do Brasil and Banco do Nordeste.
