Duo of dancers who performed at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony give interview at the Rio Media Center

Rio de Janeiro, 8 September 2016 - Ballet dancers Renata Mara and Oscar Capucho, who performed during the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, will offer a press conference this Friday at 2 p.m. at Rio Media Center. Both visually impaired, the duo presented a "pas de deux" right after the number that gathered 400 dancers dancing with giant LED canes, considered one of the highlights of the ceremony. They will talk about their careers and how they prepared themselves to perform at Maracanã.

Dancers

Oscar Capucho - Holder of a degree in Theatre from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Oscar made his professional début in 2012 with Desassossego em Branco (Disquiet in White), performing with Renata Mara. He became blind at the age of nine due to a retinal detachment.

Renata Mara - Renata began dancing at the age of three. A Psychology graduate, she works as a professional dancer and is a Ph.D. candidate. Renata was born with retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative disease of the retina that causes gradual loss of vision.
