Casa Brasil opens its doors to the world

Thousands of people have taken the opportunity to learn about Brazil in a different way on the first day of operation of Brazil's National House at the Olympic Games

The long-awaited moment has arrived: Casa Brasil has opened its doors at Pier Mauá with a mix of interactivity and technology that promises a great dose of Brazilianness to all visitors. Their experiences will include Brazil's culture and cuisine, tourist destinations, sports, Olympic legacy, sustainability and environment, and much more.

On its first day, it has already attracted a lot of attention. In the first two hours, Casa Brasil welcomed over 4,000 visitors. Many families and tourists from different parts of the world have filled the rooms.

Carmen Stewart, 62, a retired Brazilian who lives in England, was one of the first visitors. She could not hide her excitement as she danced forró to the sound of a live performance by Trio Nordestino, a band who had come straight from São Luís do Maranhão to perform at the Brasil Junino exhibition. "It is important to have access to initiatives such as this, so that our people may learn more about themselves. Brazil is a country with infinite wealth".

For lawyer Márcia Oliveira, 45, Casa Brasil represents Brazilian diversity. "We all love samba, but Brazil is not only about that. Brazil is much more", she added.

Located at the regenerated Port Area in Rio de Janeiro, at warehouses 1 and 2 on Pier Mauá, next to the Museum of Tomorrow, Casa Brasil's 12,500 m2 are full of Brazilian beauty and joy.
